Note: This is not a spoilers page. I'm living spoiler free these days. I used to be somewhat addicted; it was all to easy, as I could sit down and read quotes from US sites on series that weren't even being advertised over here. This is just news on cast members, writers, directors, etc. Updates or new stuff will be at the top.

"Firefly" - 11/02/02 where I got this from

Nathan Fillion

A guy called Nathan Fillion has landed the lead part, and is to play Captain Malcolm (Mal) Reynolds. He's been in Dracula 2000, Saving Private Ryan, Spin City, One Life to Live, for which he got an Emmy nomination, and a whole load of other stuff, but he seems to be best known for Two Guys and a Girl. Reynolds is the owner and the captain of the spaceship, and a disillusioned war veteran of the big battle to unite the planets. He was, of course, fighting on the side that sought independence and lost bitterly.

"He's a very dark-driven guy," Whedon has said. He's supposedly "psyched" about the casting of Fillion in the role. (more in archives)

Madame Tussauds - 07/02/02 where I got this from

Madame Tussaud's have announced that they're gonna do a model of Sarah Michelle Gellar in wax some time next year. Madame Tussaud's spokeswoman Diane Moon announced plans for the Sarah figure during the unveiling of a talking sculpture of comedian Graham Norton last week.

"Ripper" - 07/02/02 where I got this from

Joss Whedon has written the two-hour pilot, but only wants to do a short order, like a British drama series.

Anthony Stewart Head has said that he's got an order for six, and the pilot stands slightly outside of that. So Joss seems to be writing another episode to give to the BBC an idea of budget and where it's placed, yadda yadda.

Tony has suggested the West Country (a) because it's where he lives and (b) because it's steeped in myth and tradition. Joss is up for that, but he's got to break a series for Fox (I think that's Firefly) as part of his contract. He's also doing a movie (a movie? tell me more...tell me more...just email me if you have info.), and animated Buffy is on it's way. So all in all, we might have a bit of a wait ahead of us. Animated Buffy - 07/02/02 where I got this from

So, Marti Noxon's telling people we could have a problem. The scripts are written, stuff's been done, but Fox Family are "not sure that they want to do more family programming like that." We'll still get it eventually, with any luck, they're just not sure where they're gonna air it.

Incidentally, David Boreanaz has said he won't be voicing Angel, due to being tied up with other stuff.

"Fantastic Four" - 06/02/02 where I got this from

Doug Petrie is working on the screenplay for the upcoming superhero film Fantastic Four.

Others such as Sam Hamm (Monkeybone,Batman) and Michael France (Goldeneye,Cliffhanger) have written screenplays, but Petrie nailed the job after meeting director Peyton Reed (Bring It On) through Christophe Beck (The Genius that used to do the music for Buffy)

It's due to release in cinemas some time in 2003.
