Err... Not sure whether they hit the mark with this. Guess they thought if they just said the q word people would just go ooh, science. The theory does have a weird thing with a cat which could be said to be in sync with Sunnydale's version, but it's a bit of a stretch.
This basically says when we lock a cat in a box, and set up a mechanism by which if an isotope decays radioactively the cat gets fed poison and dies, and if it doesn't decay the cat gets yum yums and everythings hunkydory. What quantum says is that until we actually check to see what's happened, the cat is neither dead nor alive (and no, I don't mean undead). What I mean is that until we collapse it's 'event wave function thingy' then both scenarios can coexist very happily. Visit for more details.
I guess the link Gile's makes is that seeing as the cat isn't dead until we decide to take a peek, it's kinda like we shape reality by what we see and think. Take the giant leap and say that if we think of someone being invisible, then they actually will be invisible. Isn't there something about walking over hot coals barefoot which uses the same principles....?
